STG International is seeking qualified candidates for the Health Services Administrator (RN) position to work providing health care to detainees in custody in support at Buchanan County Jail.  

The Health Services Administrator (HSA) provides outstanding customer service to all customers including, but not limited to, inmate patients, correctional facility staff, internal employees are other individuals providing services to STGi and its clients.  The HSA has the responsibility to direct and supervise the delivery of contract services within the correctional facility, including supervision of personnel and budget and liaison of services with the client. The HSA works in conjunction with the Regional Manager, facility management, the site management teams and other health care professionals to fulfill contractual requirements.  


  • Coordinate the total health care delivery system in their assigned facility or facilities based on the Standard Operating Procedures of the STGi and Health Services, and contract agreements. Ensure required coverage at site. 
  • Establish work schedules and allocate duties for assigned staff. 
  • Review and approve use of overtime for assigned staff and submit biweekly payroll. 
  • Supervise and evaluate work performance of assigned staff.  Counsel and discipline employees, as established by STGi policies and procedures. 
  • Complete and approve a written yearly evaluation on all assigned staff 
  • Prepare, analyze, and manage the financial performance of the site. Participate in the preparation of the operating budget, as needed. 
  • Participate in cost containment goals, and standards, and activities. 
  • Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures of the Medical Unit.  Ensure such processes and guidelines adhere to the procedures and philosophy of STGi and the correctional facility. 
  • Coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment of inmate patients, as directed by the physician. 
  • Meet with the key facility personnel to manage the liaison of services within the Facility. 
  • Report regularly to the Regional Manager regarding budget variances, clinical performance issues, progress on action plans and pertinent changes affecting the contract. 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain health review. 
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of medical records. 
  • Assist in recruiting professional staff and independent contractors, as needed. 
  • Orient new assigned personnel and coordinate in-service and ongoing training for assigned staff. 
  • Implement and monitor adherence to the applicable policies and procedures and standards to ensure the appropriate delivery of health care and compliance with required administrative tasks. 
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in decision-making process, planning, directing, conserving, and controlling the management of the Facility. 
  • Attend facility, department and corporate meetings, as required or requested. 
  • Uphold all rules and regulations governing patient confidentiality. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures in the event of emergency or crisis situations and assist as procedures warrant. 
  • Oversee security of medications, supplies and equipment. 
  • Orient new assigned personnel and coordinate in-service and ongoing training. 
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program. 
  • Assist the Medical Director in establishing the CQI calendar, as needed. 
  • Participate in the monthly CQI committee (including submitting appropriate recommendations to improve health care services). 
  • Oversee services rendered by contractors and professional staff, as needed. 
  • Ensure weekly submission of all required service logs, as needed. 
  • Verify and submit professionals’ time record biweekly for all contracted professional providers, as needed. 
Required Skills
  • Minimum of five years of administrative/supervisory experience in a health care setting, preferably corrections. 
  • Minimum of three years of correctional health care experience may be required. 
  • Previous nursing supervisory experience may be required, as defined by site and staffing needs. 
  • Active state nursing licensure may be required, as defined by site and staffing needs. 
  • CPR certification is required, as defined by site and staffing needs. 
  • Experience in short-term and long-term planning, budgeting, and contracting.
